We HAVE had hold-your-sides fun ever since Uncle Cliff (everybody's favorite uncle, but especially ours) dreamed up an amusement park in the desert. Our rides and our wonderful staff have made people grin and laugh and gasp and scream!
Here are a few of the highlights:
1958 Clifford and Zella Hammond moved from Idaho to Albuquerque with a dream to open and operate an amusement park. What an idea!
1959 Their dream came true as Clifford and Zella founded Kiddieland
1962 Cliff’s needed a bigger and better location, so they moved the park from Lomas Blvd. to Tijeras Canyon
1963 Another move saw Uncle Cliff’s Familyland finds its permanent home in Albuquerque’s Northeast Heights
1974 Cliff and Zella’s daughter, Linda Hammond, and Gary Hays fell madly in love, got married. They began to operate Cliff’s, always a family organization
1977 We introduced our Galaxi roller coaster and the screams of delight carried across the park
1984 Cliff's patrons began to enjoy the benefits of a $1 million park expansion adding rides, parking, front gate admissions
1991 Uncle Cliff’s really grew up and it was time to be renamed Cliff’s Amusement Park
2009 A landmark year, Cliff’s celebrates 50 years in business—50 Years of Family Fun
2010 SUPER FIRE BALL! opens—80 feet high 13 revolutions per minute - a speeding, soaring monster of a ride that continues the Cliff's tradition
